Alan Curtis undertook a law degree and graduated from the University of Westminster in 1988. He went on to do the Solicitors final examination in Lancaster gate London in 1989. He commenced work at Hyde Mahon Bridges in central London and qualified as a Solicitor in 1992. After qualifying he worked for Parkinson and Co in Surrey conducting general litigation and then moved to Cornwall where he specialised in person injury and clinical negligence work. He moved to Newport in south Wales to conduct a substantial caseload of industrial disease claims. He was the founder member of the practice in 1997 setting up as Alan Curtis Solicitors in Monmouth. He has over 25 years of experience in personal injury and medical negligence claims. Alan has been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel for many years and has won substantial damages for many injured clients over the years. He has built up the practice from being a sole trader to its current size and has obtained Lexcel accreditation for the practice. He is married with two teenage daughters and in his spare time he enjoys cooking and bee keeping.
Simon Jenkins graduated with a degree in Law in 1990 from Wolverhampton and undertook law final examinations at Chester Law School in 1991. He qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and became a partner with Alan Curtis in 2001. Simon is a Director of Curtis Legal and has a background of general legal practice. Simon has 25 years experience in legal practice and has a broad knowledge of legal matters. He has helped thousands of people over the course of his career in law with a wide variety of legal matters. He has considerable experience of personal injury matters and civil procedure and is currently head of the probate team. He still however continues to work closely with other team members in the other areas of practice. He is married with two children and enjoys swimming, cycling, skiing and spending time with his family.
Jonathan Cooper is a Litigation Executive with Jonathan over 15 years’ experience in dealing with all areas of personal injury work. He has conducted high value road traffic accident and accident at work claims including successfully settling cases in excess of £500,000.00. He now specialises in claims for compensation as a result of medical negligence. He graduated from the University of the West of England with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) Degree in 2002. During his 16 year career exclusively with Curtis Legal he has successfully dealt with hundreds of cases and has vast experience of civil procedure. In his free time Jonathan enjoys relaxing with his family, kept busy by his two young children. He is an avid follower of Crosskeys RFC. He also enjoys running and walking his two Labradors in the mountains near his home.
Francis Paciello graduated in Modern History and Politics at Nottingham University in 1990. Following graduation he worked for various organisations including the citizens advice bureau in an advisory capacity predominantly in the field of welfare rights. In 2002 he undertook the Bar vocational course at Cardiff university and he qualified as a Barrister in 2002. He joined Curtis Legal in 2003 to work as part of the growing personal injury team. He continued his studies at Curtis Legal and became dually qualified as a solicitor in 2006. He specialises in personal injury and medical negligence work and has worked in these fields of law since 2003. He has a vast experience of civil procedure and during his time with Curtis Legal has represented hundreds of clients. He has dealt with numerous high value cases and his highest settlement to date was for a brain injured client for whom he recovered over £1.5 million. He has attended many courses on personal injury, medical negligence and inquests.
Laura Blandford gained a LLB (hons) degree in 2004 from Cardiff University and completed the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University in 2005. She joined Curtis Legal Ltd in August 2005 and qualified as a solicitor in 2009. Laura has over 10 years experience of personal injury claims, mainly dealing with road traffic accidents and medical negligence cases. Laura has specialised in clinical negligence since 2012 and has also undertaken medical product liability work particularly metal on metal hip cases. Laura has successfully helped hundreds of individuals obtain compensation awards. She is married with two young children
Richard Lord is a Chartered Legal Executive with more than 33 years litigation experience mostly spent in the field of personal injury but in recent years has applied his expertise to Clinical Negligence. He has worked in the in-house legal departments of a trade union and an insurance company as well as private practice. Richard graduated from the University of Hull in 1979. He worked in the Civil Service for nearly 6 years before embarking on a legal career, gaining his legal qualifications by part-time and evening study whilst learning on the job. He now specialises in pressure sore claims where there has been a failure in care afforded by hospitals (both private and NHS), Care Homes and District Nurses. He has worked with Curtis Legal since 2006.
Wayne Rudall commenced his legal career by joining Eversheds Solicitors in Cardiff in 2002. Prior to that time he had been working in non-legal management roles. At Eversheds he became section manager in the Recoveries department specialising in debt recovery and civil litigation. He commenced study for his legal qualifications whilst working at Eversheds and worked for them for 4 years until he joined Curtis Legal in 2007. He continued his studies and qualified as a fellow of the institute of legal executives in June 2009. He then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University in June 2012 and subsequently qualified as a solicitor in December 2012. Wayne has handled a wide variety of personal injury cases since joining Curtis Legal Ltd, including medical product liability. He has specialised in clinical negligence matters since 2013, including a number of complex high value serious injury cases. Wayne has two children and enjoys sport, music, reading and spending time with his family. He is also a keen runner, and recently completed his first marathon.
Stella Stevens attended UWE, Bristol and graduated with a degree in Law in 2001. She started work with Howells Solicitors in Cardiff and whilst employed as a paralegal undertook the Legal Practice Course. She completed her training contract at Howells Solicitors and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. She joined Curtis Legal in 2010. She has considerable experience of dealing with general personal injury work and has dealt with hundreds of road traffic accidents and accidents at work whilst working in our personal injury team since 2010. Since 2014 Stella has concentrated on clinical negligence work and has helped many clients obtain settlements as a result of medical negligence. She has dealt with a number of high value and complex cases and achieved significant monetary settlements. Stella enjoys running and going to the gym in her spare time.
Sarah Curtis obtained a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Applied Social Sciences in June 1988 at Southport College. She then went on to pass the Common Professional Examinations and Solicitors Finals at the Guildford College of Law in 1990.Sarah trained as a solicitor in Hyde Mahon Bridges, central London and began work as a litigation solicitor in Farnham Surrey. She then began her own legal company specialising in legal costs. In 1997 Sarah was the co founder of Curtis Legal Ltd with Alan Curtis. She now works as a caseworker in the Medical Negligence Department and a consultant in costing services to solicitors. Sarah is also the mother of two daughters and her hobbies include, reading, cooking and travel.
Rhiannon Jenkins graduated with a 2.1 Honours degree in Law from Cardiff University in 1994. She then went on to the legal practice course and completed the academic part of her training in 1995. She undertook her articles with Hambly Smith Solicitors and qualified as a Solicitor in 1998. She went on to work for JA Hughes Solicitors in Cardiff undertaking mainly Conveyancing and private client work. In 1999 she joined Countrywide property lawyers in Cardiff and worked there until taking time off to raise her family in 2012. She has worked for Curtis legal since 2016 as part of the medical negligence team mainly involved in assisting fee earners to verify the validity of cases. She does not maintain her own case load but works with the fee earners on a regular basis to identify failings in care and grounds upon which to base potential negligence claims. She has considerable experience in the field of medical negligence and is analytical and thorough in her investigations. She also provides assistance with complex estate Conveyancing matters. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.
Charlotte Cullis joined Curtis Legal in 2018 to work primarily in the wills and probate team. She attended Royal forest of Dean college and undertook a course on business and administration NVQ level 2. She then did a legal apprenticeship to further her qualification attaining level 3. She has over 9 years experience in private client work, in particular wills and probate. She also has conveyancing and general private client experience. Charlotte likes walking, reading, enjoys music and is in a steel pan band.
Sarah White joined Curtis Legal in 2017 to assist with general administration and case management. She is the primary point of contact at the firm. She previously worked for a firm of estate agents for approximately 18 years dealing with sales progression and general administration. Her hobbies are steps and pilates and enjoying spending time with her family.
Shirley Kyle joined Curtis Legal in 2018 and is responsible for the financial administration of the firm. She has worked in a number of different businesses in an account and book keeping role to include a large house builder. She was a registered book keeper and a member of the FIAB for many years. In her free time she enjoys gardening, reading, tapestry and walking.
